Club History

Beverly Hills Country Club was founded 80 years ago by Merv’s late Uncle, Elmer Griffin. He established the club as a convenient location between 20th Century Fox and MGM, where studio executives and stars could meet, socialize, and conduct business. Merv held a gala charity event with 20 top Hollywood celebrity tennis enthusiasts playing with 20 Childhelp USA major benefactors in a round-robin series of doubles matches. A luncheon, boutique shopping and an awards dinner buffet followed the afternoon’s final match.

BHCC continues its long history of entertaining celebrities and the community alike with great enthusiasm. May the next 80 years be as great as the first !!
